Large protest in Madrid organised by the FCJE called for the return of hostages from Hamas

Hundreds of people gathered in Madrid outside the Congress of Deputies as called by the Federation of Jewish Communities in Spain to demand the immediate and unconditional release of over 220 individuals who have been held hostage by Hamas since October 7.

During the protest, a video featuring the relatives of the hostages pleading for their release was screened. Both the speakers and the assembled individuals urged political leaders to intensify their efforts so that the captives, about whom nothing is known, and for whom no humanitarian organization has been able to gain access, return to their homes and end their nightmare.

Isaac Benzaquén, the president of the Federation of Jewish Communities in Spain, emphasized that they never forget the kidnapped individuals, express their fear for their lives, and reject their use as bargaining chips.

On a small stage, several family members of the hostages shared their testimonies. The event concluded with the crowd chanting “Let them come home!” and the rendition of the Israeli national anthem, followed by the Spanish national anthem
