Jewish Community of Gibraltar celebrates three centuries of contemporary presence in the rock

The demonstration “sent shockwaves” through Gibraltar’s Jewish community, impacting deeply both at a personal and collective level, said the Managing Board of the Community in a statement.

This follows the controversy surrounding antisemitic social media posts by Gibraltar general election candidate Youssef El Hana.

Dozens of Jews and Non-Jews alike in Gibraltar lit a candle by their window to commemorate International Holocaust Remembrance Day.

Some 115 members of the Board of Deputies of British Jews spent the last weekend in Gibraltar to show their “respect, affection and admiration” to the Rock’s Jewish community.
