FCJE brings Ibn Gabirol exhibition to Valencia

The Federation of Jewish Communities of Spain (FCJE), in cooperation with the Network of Spanish Juderías (Jewish Quarters),  and the City Council of Valencia, opened an exhibition on Solomon Ibn Gabirol at the Museum of History of Valencia.

The opening ceremony consisted of the presentation of a comic strip on the life of the Spanish Jewish 11th century poet and philosopher.

Isaac Sananes, President of the Comunidad Israelita de Valencia, represented the FCJE in a ceremony. He was joined by Valencia’s Councillor for Culture, Gloria Tello and the Mayor of Sagunto, Darío Moreno Lerga.

The event was attended by leaders of the Masorti Community of Valencia, Aviv, led by its President, Rafael Alazraki.

The ceremony also included a lecture on Ibn Gabirol by the Israeli Hispanist Rachel Peled and a musical performance by the group Evoéh.

The FCJE is Spain’s EJC affiliate.
