Swedish police foil attack on Israeli Embassy in Stockholm

An attempted attack on the Israeli Embassy in Stockholm was thwarted by Swedish security forces.

Swedish broadcaster STV reported that a dangerous object was discovered outside the Israeli Embassy and destroyed by the bomb squad. No one was injured.

In a statement, Sweden’s Deputy Prime Minister Ebba Busch said she was “shaken by the information about the attack on the Israeli embassy. The hatred against Israel is frightening. Violent extremism must be stopped. Incredibly grateful for the Swedish police’s quick intervention.”

Israel’s Ambassador to Sweden Ziv Nevo Kulman said “Israel will not be intimidated by terror” in the aftermath of the incident.

“Today we were subject to an attempted attack against the Embassy of Israel in Stockholm and its employees. We thank the Swedish authorities for their swift response,” Kulman said.
