Several graves defaced with antisemitic markings in southern France

Several graves in a municipal cemetery in the south-western French town of Gruissan were defaced with antisemitic markings.

“Death to the French”; “Death to the Jews”, read the markings, accompanied by swastikas, tagged with black felt tip pen on twenty tombs in the cemetery.

The cemetery is now closed to the public. “An investigation has been opened,” said the town hall of Gruissan, which does not wish to communicate further.

The instruction was entrusted to the research brigade of the Narbonne gendarmerie.
