Dutch Prime Minister: ‘We must tackle antisemitism collectively as a society’

In the Netherlands, antisemitism is “truly heading in the wrong direction” according to Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte.

“I am deeply concerned that individuals of Jewish background are currently being harassed because of their heritage and the situation in Israel,” said Rutte.

According to the Prime Minister, the question is not so much what the government is doing about it, but rather that the Dutch society should “collectively address it.”

“We are one of the most open countries in the world. This includes holding each other accountable for our behaviour.”
