FCJE condemns Spanish Deputy Prime Minister’s calls to free Palestine “from the river to the sea”

The Federation of Spanish Jewish Communities (FCJE) issued a statement condemning Spanish Deputy Prime Minister Yolanda Diaz, who called for Palestine “to be free, from the river to the sea,” a saying that calls for the destruction of the State of Israel.

“The FCJE, the institution that officially represents Spanish Jews, considers the institutional statement made on social media by the Second Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Labor and Social Economy, Yolanda Díaz, to be unacceptable, as it advocates for the disappearance of Israel.

The Minister said, “Palestine will be free from the river to the sea,” a slogan used by the terrorist organization Hamas, which calls for the extermination of the Jewish state.

This slogan was also used by her party colleague and minister Sira Rego, and it not only demonstrates their antisemitism but also promotes aversion towards Spanish Jews.

Instead of working for the defense and security of Spanish citizens of the Jewish faith, the ministers encourage rejection and hatred towards Jews.”
