FCER sets up emergency contact points for refugees

The Federation of Jewish Communities of Romania (FCER), in cooperation with the Joint Distribution Committee (JDC) has opened up a series of contact points on the Romanian-Ukrainian border to assist refugees.

Representatives of FCER and JDC are at the Siret border crossing in Northern Romania to provide support and guidance to all those in need, regardless of their origin or faith.

Since February 27, work has begun on setting up a support point where volunteers will provide tea, coffee, hot soup and information to those crossing the border at Siret. The contact point has been operational since March 1

Similar points have been other border crossing points are bieng set up at the Isaccea and Sighetu Marmației crossings.

A 24/7 helpline has also been set up in Ukrainian, Russian, English and Romanian
