Antisemitic graffiti in Polistena

An antisemitic graffiti, “Juve = Jews” (“Juve = Ebrei”) appeared on the walls of a central street in the Italian town of Polistena, Calabria.

The alleged author of the antisemitic graffiti has been identified.

The municipality said in a statement: “A timely report from a citizen allowed us to intervene immediately and cover up an act that was unworthy not only for its vulgarity, but also for the ideological association made against Jews, complete with an ‘ignorant swastika’.”
The municipality condemned what happened, points out how the germs of fascism, xenophobia and intolerance still lurk in our society.
