Paris police ban show by antisemitic comedian

After the French Union of Jewish Students (UEJF) and SOS Racisme protested outside a theatre about to show a performance by the antisemitic comedian, Dieudonne M’Bala M’Bala, Paris police ordered the show cancelled.

A large police force was present at the site and the Paris Prefecture finally ordered Dieudonne to cancel the show scheduled for Porte Maillot in the west of the capital.

“While antisemitism increased in France in 2018 by 74 per cent, the UEJF calls on French mayors and prefects to do all possible to prevent these activities and to apply legal decisions,” the UEJF said in a statement.

“This cancellation is an additional stage in the fight against Dieudonne, UEJF President Sacha Ghozlan said. In his last show, spectacle, he claimed the gas chambers never existed and incited towards hatred. In spite of his tricks to escape the law, we will continue to lead this fight to defend the values cast aside by this multiple offender of hate.”
