Recently-elected far-right Belgian MP charged with racism and Holocaust denial

A judge in the Belgian city of Gent has opened charges against a newly-elected MP from the far-right Vlaams Belang party for racism amd Holocaust revisionism.

Dries Van Langenhove is accused for his actions in the Schild en Vrienden organisation, which were investigated by a Flemish-language TV report.

Van Langenhove was questioned at his home on arms charges as well as those connected with racism and Holocaust revisionism.

One of the court conditions placed on him is an obligatory and accompanied visit to the site in Mechelen from where Belgian Jews were deported to Auschwitz.
