Belgian football supporters sing antisemitic song during match

Belgium’s Jewish umbrella organisation and EJC affiliate, the Coordinating Committee of Jewish organisations in Belgium (CCOJB) has written to the Club Bruges football club to demand that an antisemitic song is no longer sang by supporters of the club.

The song, “Whoever doesn’t jump is a Jew” is generally sung in matches against Anderlecht, a Brussels club which has historic Jewish associations.

In its letter to Club Bruges, the CCOJB wrote that “there is no place for this song in our stadiums” and asked the club to call on its supporters to cease singing the song.
