Katharina von Schnurbein receives an Honorary Doctorate from Ben-Gurion University

European Commission Coordinator on combating antisemitism and fostering Jewish life Katharina von Schnurbein received an Honorary Doctorate from Ben-Gurion University.

The European Jewish Congress congratulated her emphasizing that “over the past decade, Katharina has consistently demonstrated her unwavering support for European Jewish communities and has been a steadfast ally in the ongoing battle against antisemitism.”

“In a moment where antisemitism has spiked, especially after October 7, Katharina’s resolute moral stance has served as a beacon of light during these challenging times. As the number of antisemitic incidents across Europe has surged to levels unprecedented since WWII, her outstanding commitment to combating hatred has been both commendable and essential.”
