Man arrested after attempted kidnap of Jewish minors in Stamford Hill

A Jewish child and baby were victims of an alleged attempted kidnapping in Stamford Hill.

The incident occurred outside Lubavitch House Synagogue in Stamford Hill where a 12-year-old boy was walking past the synagogue while pushing a buggy with his 2-year-old sibling.

The suspect was approached by witnesses and detained until the police arrived and arrested him.

There has been a massive increase in hate crimes since 7 October, with over 238 hate crimes reported to Shomrim’s third-party reporting service in the last eight months alone.

This marks a significant rise compared to the past five-year average of 150 hate crimes per year.

These 238 incidents have been reported within the Charedi Orthodox footprint in Stamford Hill, which encompasses about seven council ward areas.
