Hours before a devastating earthquake struck Morocco, EJC Executive VP Raya Kalenova met with the President of the Jewish community Serge Berdugo and other members of the community in the city of Marrakech. Together they visited an ancient synagogue in the historical Jewish quarter, a neighbourhood that suffered greatly.
Following the tragic earthquake, Ms Kalenova met with the Jewish community’s leadership to offer EJC’s support and to express European Jewish communities’ solidarity with the Jewish community and people of Morocco.
