EJC attends 4th Working Group on the implementation of the EU strategy on combating antisemitism in Bucharest

The European Jewish Congress took part in the fourth meeting of the European Commission working group on the implementation of the EU strategy on combating antisemitism and fostering Jewish life, held in Bucharest, Romania.

This meeting was organised by the Romanian Government jointly with the European Commission. 

Among issues discussed at the Working Group were the state of play of the development of national strategies and national plans on combating antisemitism, the need to combat online antisemitism and the tools needed to foster Jewish life in Europe.

Policy Officer Dylan Bokler represented the EJC at the meeting which brought together representatives of national Jewish communities, international and civil society organisations, national ministries and high-level officers of the European Institutions.

Among the speakers were Vice-President of the European Commission Margaritis Schinas, European Commission Coordinator on Combating Antisemitism and Fostering Jewish Life Katherina von Schnurbein and Prime Minister of Romania Nicolae Ciucă.
