Symposium on anti-Semitism in Brussels

EJC Secretary General Serge Cwajgenbaum and CRIF General Director Haim Musicant met in Paris on Monday, March 9th to discuss the preparations for the upcoming symposium entitled “Building Together the Future of Europe”to be held in Brussels on March 30th.

The symposium, organized by the European Jewish Congress under the patronage of the Czech EU presidency and the European Parliament, with the participation of the European Commission, will bring together members of the European Parliament, community leaders, opinion makers and experts.

The CRIF will be part of the organising committee of the symposium which will focus on the recent rise of anti-Semitism all over Europe.

The symposium will give MEPs the opportunity to hear expert analysis first hand, and encourage initiatives to combat this issue.

Many eminent political personalities have confirmed their presence including Vice President of the European Commission in charge of Freedom, Security and Justice, Jacques Barrot, and the Czech Minister for Human Rights and National Minorities, Michael Kocab.

EJC President Moshe Kantor will give the opening remarks of the symposium. CRIF President Richard Prasquier will address the participants. General Director Haim Musicant as well as members of the CRIF will attend this event together with Joel Rubinfeld, President of the Belgian Jewish community and Mike Whine, Director of International Affairs of the Community Security Trust (UK) who are part of the Organizing Committee.

EJC welcomes European Parliament resolution calling for extended sanctions against Iran

“The centrality of Iran in the destabilisation of the whole of the Middle East is evident to all and we welcome the Parliament’s resolution noting this fact. The time has come for total exclusion of the Islamic Republic from the international arena and targeted sanctions” said EJC President Dr Ariel Muzicant.
