European Jewish Congress President Moshe Kantor met with Secretary General of the Council of Europe Thorbjorn Jagland to discuss the rise of racism, anti-Semitism and xenophobia in Europe. Moshe Kantor presented his Manifesto on Secure Tolerance; during the meeting. The Secretary General welcomed this initiative and considered favourably the possibility of a future collaboration between the ECTR and the Council of Europe. President Moshe Kantor also met with the new President of the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly Jean Claude Mignon. The two discussed their common agendas and looked forward to beginning a fruitful working relationship,
