The Telegraphic Agency : Kantor to meet top Greek leaders

Moshe Kantor will meet with top Greek leaders to discuss Holocaust education and antisemitism.

The president of the European Jewish Congress was scheduled to meet with President Karolos Papoulias, Prime Minister Kostas Karamanlis, Foreign Minister Dora Bakoyannis and other leaders.

More than 85 percent of Greek Jewry was murdered by the Nazis.

Kantor intends to urge Greek officials to stiffen penalties for hate crimes, according to the European Jewish Congress, and express concern over the rise of the extreme right on the Greek political scene.
