
The European Jewish Congress (EJC), the representative political organisation of European Jewry, is looking to expand its international and dynamic team with the position of Public Affairs and Events Coordinator. The work place is situated in Brussels.
At EJC, we work as a team. The Public Affairs and Events Coordinator will collaborate closely with colleagues, ensuring a supportive environment where tasks are shared.
Description of main responsibilities:
- Contribute to EJC’s advocacy efforts with members of the European Parliament and their staff, European Commission officials, international organizations (OSCE, ODIHR, UNESCO, etc.), embassies and NGOs, supporting the organization’s policy strategies.
- Liaise with EJC’s affiliated Jewish communities across 42 countries, ensuring strong communication and engagement, as well as keeping them informed on EJC activities and responding to their queries.
- Support the planning, organization and logistics of physical, hybrid and online high-profile public and internal events, included but not limited to conferences, seminars, Executive meetings, General Assemblies, in Brussels and across Europe
- Assist in preparing, managing and following up on event budgets, invoices and related transactions
- Coordinate invitations, liaise with speakers, participants and VIP guests, and arrange travel and accommodation as required
- Maintain close coordination with event partners, managing contracts with service providers, including venues, caterers, audiovisual teams and content providers.
- Work with graphic designers, photographers, web/audio/visual developers, and printers on the production of communications materials for events.
- Manage event communication and outreach, ensuring timely dissemination of invitations, programs and follow-ups
- General co-ordination and support to the office, such as answering and directing phone calls, accepting deliveries, travel arrangements, office maintenance issues, etc
Required Skills and experience:
- Experience in public affairs or advocacy, particularly in working with EU institutions, embassies, international organizations (OSCE, ODIHR, UNESCO, etc.) and NGOs.
- Proven event management experiencewith the ability to handle multiple tasks and deliver quality results under tight deadlines. Experience with managing events with the EU institutions is a plus.
- Excellent communication and engagement skills, including the ability to liaise effectively with EJC’s affiliated Jewish communities across 42 countries, ensuring strong relationships and timely responses to inquiries.
- Strong organizational skills and an eye for detail
- Fluent oral and written skills in English and French. Knowledge of German, Hebrew or other languages is an advantage
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PPT). Knowledge of tools such as Canva, Stripo, Mailchimp is an advantage.
- Strong organisational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Interest in politics, European affairs and Jewish community issues is an advantage.Availability for occasional travel
