Almost two-thirds of all religion-based hate crimes in the US in 2025 were against Jews, the FBI revealed in its newly released Reported Crimes in the Nation.
According to the data, there were 1,528 antisemitic hate crime incidents recorded last year, constituting 63% of the total. The number of hate crimes targeting Jews was over seven times higher than the next highest target: anti-Muslim crimes (205 incidents).
The FBI recorded 1,685 antisemitic offenses, which meant some incidents involved more than one criminal act. It also recorded 1,746 victims of antisemitic hate crimes and 1,591 offenders.
This marked a decrease across the board compared to 2024, when there were 1,938 antisemitic hate crime incidents, 2,137 offenses, and 2,237 victims.
Nevertheless, 2025 marked the third-highest year on record of anti-Jewish hate crimes.
The FBI also released details of the types of offenses committed.
Violent acts remained high, with 162 anti-Jewish assaults (50 aggravated and 112 simple assaults) in 2025, along with three anti-Jewish murder/nonnegligent manslaughter offenses and 505 acts of intimidation targeting Jewish victims. There was also one listed incident of antisemitic rape.
More than half of the offenses (920) involved destruction of property, vandalism, or other forms of damage.
