‘Antisemitism has no place in Australia. It has no place anywhere in the world,’ prime minister says
Australia will adopt the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) working definition of antisemitism, Prime Minister Scott Morrison announced during his intervention in the Malmö International Forum on Holocaust Remembrance and Combating Antisemitism.
“My government pledges to embrace the definition of antisemitism adopted by the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance,” Morrison said in a video statement. “Australia does so as a people, and as a nation. Antisemitism has no place in Australia. It has no place anywhere in the world.”
Jewish organizations in Australia welcomed the announcement.
