The latest electoral count in Israel’s parliamentary elections showed Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s centre-right Likud party leading the vote in a tight race that exit polling had deemed too close to call.
Netanyahu faced a stiff challenge from ex-military chief Benny Gantz, leader of the centrist Blue and White party.
Netanyahu now looks set to form another coalition with right wing and religious parties.
Whichever party wins the most seats, will be certain to need coalition allies to gain a majority in Israel’s 120-seat Knesset.
