Turkish Jewish Youth create an online museum to commemorate Holocaust victims

“Alef Youth”, one of the youth clubs of the Turkish Jewish community, created, ahead of Yom HaShoah, an online museum. The initiative was taken in the context of the Karakare project that Alef Youth leads for many years to increase awareness on Holocaust.

The Alef Youth about their new project said:

“Karakare is a project developed and led by the Alef Youth that aims to raise awareness on Holocaust and antisemitism. In order to accomplish its mission of remembrance and education, Karakare is organizing various events each year such as movie screenings articles in the Salom Newspaper,.. and this online Museum project is one more example”.

This year, Karakare had to create a project in line with anti-Covid-19 measures. This is why the Alef Museum is an online museum.

In the Alef Online Museum that you can visit here, you will come across multiple exhibitions including the stories of the people who have helped the Jews during the Holocaust and were recognised as ‘Righteous Among the Nations’. The exhibition also focuses on the spoliation of Jewish property by the nazis.
