Jewish Cemetery in Istanbul vandalised

36 tombstones of the Hasköy Jewish Cemetery, in Istanbul, were vandalized by unknown perpetrators.

The Jewish Community of Turkey said that “the matter has been conveyed to the relevant authorities with all the pictures and night recordings” and they expect “the perpetrators to be caught as soon as possible”.

Turkish Presidential Spokesperson Ibrahim Kalın stated that the government, “strongly condemns this heinous attack. The relevant authorities have taken action to locate the perpetrators. We shall never allow those who attack sacred values and try to sow seeds of chaos and hostility in our society”.
