Chief Rabbi of Tunisia in self-isolation after being in contact with infected person

The Chief Rabbi of Tunisia, Haim Bittan, has self-isolated after Tunisian Ministry of Health alerted him he was in contact with a person infected by the coronavirus, together with about a dozen members of the Jewish community.

Tunisian authorities decided to implement this of measure in order to tackle the propagation of the virus in Djerba, following a meeting with the local Jewish community. All synagogues and and Yeshivot in Djerba will remain closed until further notice.
