Swiss Jewish community announces relief action for refugees

The Association of Swiss Jewish Welfare (VSJF) is ready to assist refugees both on the ground and in Switzerland.

The VSJF has a great deal of experience in refugee aid, namely from World War II, the Hungarian crisis and the Bosnian war.

It is part of Swiss refugee aid and is also active in the field of asylum. In cooperation with the Joint Distribution Committee (JDC) and the European Council of Jewish Communities (ECJC), the VSJF now wants to ensure that the affected people are supported.

The VSJF is also in contact with the Swiss authorities in case refugees should also come to Switzerland. Numerous Jewish communities in Switzerland have already offered their help in this regard.

The Swiss Federation of Jewish communities (SIG/FCSI) supports the actions of the VSJF, which is responsible for the SIG’s social affairs. It also calls on the Swiss population to participate as far as possible in relief actions for the refugees.

The VSJF is appealing for donations. Every contribution is welcome under the account IBAN CH18 0900 0000 8001 2711 7 (subject Ukraine) and can bring help in these difficult times.
