Swiss Federation of Jewish Communities recorded 32 antisemitic attacks since October 7, 2023

Swiss Federation of Jewish Communities has documented approximately 32 antisemitic attacks in Switzerland since the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7th. Normally, there are around 50 cases per year, as highlighted by Jonathan Kreutner, Secretary General of the SIG.

Kreutner also pointed out a significant increase in serious cases of antisemitism, with four such incidents occurring in the last two weeks. Typically, serious cases, such as physical attacks on Jewish individuals, are quite rare, averaging about one every two years.

“I have also become more vigilant,” says Jonathan Kreutner. “But I feel safe in Switzerland, I trust the authorities.”
