Over two hundred people gathered in the Bern synagogue to honour the victims of Hamas terror

A memorial event for the victims of terror in Israel took place in the Bern synagogue. Over two hundred guests attended the ceremony in the synagogue of the Jewish Community of Bern.

The deceased, missing, and injured were commemorated through prayers, songs, and heartfelt words by Rabbi Jehoshua Ahrens. Courage and strength were extended to the victims’ families, the entire Israeli population, and the Jewish community, both globally and in Switzerland.

Federal Councilor Albert Rösti, representing the Swiss Federal Council, expressed compassion and solidarity in his speech. Israeli Ambassador Ifat Reshef delivered a poignant and emotional address about the situation in Israel.

In his speech, Swiss Federation of Jewish Communities (SIG) President Ralph Lewin described the profound shock experienced by the Jewish community due to the acts of terror. He also issued an impassioned appeal for unity against terrorism.
