The Official Council of Swedish Jewish communities, the country’s EJC affiliate has denounced the Arab Book Fair in the city of Malmö for offering a grossly antisemitic book on sale online.
The book in question, called “The Synagogue of Satan: The Secret History of Jewish World Domination”, published by a Syrian publisher, is available online at the website of the Arab Book Fair.
“We take the sale of antisemitic literature at a book fair very seriously,” read a statement by the Official Council. “After this was pointed out to the municipality of Malmö, it to suspend all cooperation with the book fair and to review the possibility of reclaiming its contribution to the fair. The Official Council welcomes this clear and swift position.”
“We welcome the fact that the Arab Book Fair has removed the book from its website since, that it clearly condemns the sale of this grossly antisemitic book and that it strongly opposes antisemitism,” the statement concluded
