Man tried in Helsingborg District Court after downplaying the Holocaust online

For the first time since it became illegal to deny, justify or downplay genocides such as the Holocaust, a case of this kind will be heard in court.

A man who, among other things, claims that the official figure of approximately six million Jews murdered during the Holocaust is false, has been charged with incitement against an ethnic group. He denies the offence, according to SVT Helsingborg.

“This is an individual who is facing a large number of charges for incitement against an ethnic group, so this case will provide us with useful guidance,” said prosecutor Karin Nilsson.
