Government of Melilla will allocate funding for the maintenance of Jewish cemeteries

The Government of Melilla announces an agreement with the Jewish community for the maintenance of the two Jewish cemeteries.

In a press release, the local Government detailed that the collaboration agreement is endowed with €80,000 to support “burials or interments in accordance with Jewish funeral rites and to facilitate religious practice concerning cemeteries and funeral services.”

The agreement was officially signed by the Councillor for the Environment, Daniel Ventura, and the President of the Jewish Community, Mordejay Guanich. This marks the second such agreement signed on the matter in 2025.
