New Stolpersteine will be paved in Ljubljana on November 5

17 additional Stolpersteine or “Stumbling Stones” will be placed in Ljubljana at six different locations, on Thursday, November 5, 2020.

This time tribute will be paid to the members of the Bader, Wohlfeiler, Ebenspanger/Mikolaš, Oblat, Pollak and Bolaffio families.

Boris Hajdinjak, director of the Jewish Cultural Heritage Center Synagogue Maribor, once again conducted research on the fates of the people to whom we will dedicate this year’s Stolpersteine, and Robert Waltl, director of the Mini Theater and the Jewish Cultural Center Ljubljana, organized and coordinated the project.

Sponsor of the laying of “Stumbling Stones” in Ljubljana is Zoran Janković, Mayor of the City of Ljubljana. The City of Ljubljana itself, as in previous years, provided the necessary funds for the implementation of the project.

The honorary sponsor of the project in Slovenia is the President of the Republic of Slovenia, H.E. Mr. Borut Pahor.

Due to the exceptional epidemiological situation and the ban on all events, this year’s Stolpersteine will be placed within the small groups of up to six people.
