ÚZŽNO assists in bringing aid to Transcarpathia

The President of the Federation of Jewish Communities in Slovakia (ÚZŽNO), Richard Duda, took part in a meeting  on cross-border cooperation, regarding the provision of aid to Ukraine.

Mr. Duda was joined by Tomáš Teššer, President of B’nai B’rith Concordia Košice and Eduard Buráš, Adviser to the Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic.

As a concrete outcome of the meeting, a safe corridor has been opened to provide aid to the Transcarpathia region of Ukraine, where the situation is alarming.

As a consequence between ÚZŽNO the Tauris Group, Eco-Investment Holding, and B’nai B’rith Concordia Košice, the first truckload of humanitarian aid will leave tomorrow for Transcarpathia and the Ukrainian city of Lviv.

“We believe that the aid will reach those who need it the most, without distinction of religion, nationality or ethnicity,” read a statement by ÚZŽNO.
