Unknown assailants set fire to the building of the Jewish community “Shamir” in the Perovo District of Moscow, and painted “Death to Jews” and a swastika.
The attack occurred on the night of April 20, Hitler’s birthday. The fire was partially destroyed the front porch. No one was hurt, the material damage was estimated to be about 100,000 rubles.
Based in Brussels, the European Jewish Congress is the representative umbrella organisation of national Jewish communities. It federates democratically elected national Jewish community organisations in over 40 European countries uniting 2.5 million Jews across the continent.
