Jewish Community of Lisbon donates 30 vital signs monitors to Portuguese hospitals

The Jewish Community of Lisbon, the country’s EJC affiliate has donated thirty vital signs monitors to the Portuguese national health service (SNS).

According to the official, the Jewish community is also concerned with the current situation, stressing that one of the fundamental principles of Judaism is solidarity.

“One of the fundamental principles in Judaism is solidarity and this solidarity is for the world, for all needy people and those suffering, whatever they may be and regardless of religion”, said Isaac Assor, on behalf of the CIL. “The Jewish community of Lisbon will continue its activities to preserve life, which is fundamental for all,” he added.

As of 5 April 2020, there have been 246 deaths attributed to COVID-19 and 9,886 cases of confirmed infections in Portugal.
