Polish police have raided the offices of the Centre for Monitoring Racist and Xenophobic Behaviour in Warsaw.
The search by police on Friday came at the request of the Bialystok prosecutors’ office, which said it was undertaken in order to, “find documentation on activity related to the commission of offences.”
“This is an attempt to intimidate a non-governmental organisation, which is obviously uncomfortable,” said Konrad Dulkowski, a member of the audit committee of the Association of Trzyrzecze Theatre, which is run by the centre, in an interview with the Gazeta Wyborcza newspaper.
The anti-racism group said on Facebook it operates legally and accused Poland of “turning into a police state.”
