A march took place through the streets of Warsaw in solidarity with Israel for the release of kidnapped hostages.
The march started at the Sigismund’s Column on Castle Square and went through Krakowskie Przedmieście to the General Charles de Gaulle roundabout.
The event took place in a calm atmosphere.
Participants of the “March for the Release of Hostages, March Against Antisemitism” carried the flags of Israel and Poland.
There were also banners with slogans, including: “Israel, you are not alone”, “Stop Hamas terror – free the hostages”, “Gaza free from Hamas”.
In his speech at the end of the march, Israel’s ambassador to Poland, Yacov Livne, thanked the participants for coming. “This is the largest Israeli march that has ever taken place in Warsaw. Thank you all for coming,” he said.
The demonstration ended with a minute of silence dedicated to the memory of those who lost their lives during the war.
