Jewish community of North Macedonia celebrated the last day of Hannukah

The Jewish community of North Macedonia celebrated the eighth day of the Hanukkah holiday.

A service was held in the synagogue, and eight candles on the Hanukkiyah in the courtyard were lit. We had the honor of having the eighth candle lit by the President of the Republic of North Macedonia, Mr. Stevo Pendarovski.

The remaining candles were lit by the President of the Jewish community of the Republic of North Macedonia, Mr. Pepo Levi; the Vice Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia, Mr. Bojan Maricic; the Minister of Culture, Mrs. Bisera Kostadinovska Stojcevska; Monsignor Kiro Stojanov; the Director of the Commission for relations with religious communities and religious groups, Mr. Darijan Sotirovski; the EU Ambassador, Mr. David Geer; and the Ambassador of Germany, Mrs. Petra Derxler.

Afterwards, there was a Hanukkah party arranged by our guest from Belgrade, Nikola Salacanin Albahari. A large number of guests, friends, and members of the Jewish community were present.
