Nina Ofner Bokan re-elected as President of the Jewish Community of Montenegro

The Jewish Community of Montenegro announced that, at the General Assembly of its members, Nina Ofner Bokan was re-elected unanimously for a five-year term.

“Ofner Bokan has, over previous years, devotedly led the community, contributing to its strengthening, development, and recognition within society. Her leadership has been marked by a commitment to preserving Jewish identity, nurturing tradition, and creating conditions for the community’s further progress. This new term ensures the continuation of our work and collective efforts towards achieving ambitious goals,” the statement emphasised.

Nina Ofner Bokan expressed her gratitude for the trust placed in her and the opportunity to continue leading the Jewish Community of Montenegro.

“I view my re-election not only as recognition of the work I have done so far, but also as a responsibility to continue with courage and accountability. At a time when we are witnessing a rise in antisemitism worldwide, I am proud to highlight that in Montenegro we feel safe and accepted, which I consider the greatest value we must collectively preserve. Our strategic goal remains unchanged: to uphold multiculturalism and social harmony so that the Jewish Community of Montenegro serves as an example of a vital, open, and connected community that contributes to the society in which we live,” said Ofner Bokan.
