Jewish community of Malta celebrates Hanukkah

The Jewish Community of Malta celebrated Hanukkah by lighting a public menorah. Its President, Reuben Ohayon, gave an emotional speech to the public about the meaning of this occasion for the Jewish people.

Hanukkah, also known as the Festival of Lights, holds special significance for the Jewish community worldwide, including the vibrant community in Malta. This eight-day celebration commemorates the rededication of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem and the miracle of the oil that lasted for eight days.

Through the celebration of Hanukkah, the Jewish Community of Malta not only honors its rich heritage but also shares its traditions and values with the diverse society of Malta, fostering understanding and appreciation among different communities.
