Vilnius University signed a cooperation agreement with the Lithuanian Jewish Community

Vilnius University (VU) Rector Prof. Rimvydas Petrauskas signed a cooperation agreement with the Lithuanian Jewish (Litvak) community.

This agreement, signed by Prof. R. Petrauskas and Faina Kukliansky, Chairwoman of the Lithuanian Jewish Community, aims to foster closer cooperation in fostering and disseminating Jewish cultural and historical heritage in the academic and public space, while simultaneously organizing educational, cultural and academic initiatives, and collaborating in the field of scientific research related to Judaica.

The document also aims to encourage the involvement of students and lecturers in heritage preservation, education and remembrance activities, contribute to raising awareness of the Judaica collections preserved at VU, create platforms for openness, inclusion and intercultural dialogue, and develop and implement various projects and initiatives.
