Plaque unveiled at Catholic seminary in Rome to honour the saving of Jews in WWII

Rome’s French Pontifical Seminary unveiled a plaque on Tuesday in memory of the actions of the institution in hiding 50 Jews during the Second World War.

The plaque was installed by the Raoul Wallenberg Foundation and in the presence of the French Ambassador to the Holy See Philippe Zeller. The names of all 50 Jews hidden at the seminary during the Nazi round-up of October 1943, were read out by the seminarians.
