The President of the Jewish Community of Gibraltar, James Levy, has congratulated written to Cardinal Vincent Nichols congratulating him on behalf of the community on his elevation to the College of Cardinals.
At the invitation of the Jewish Community of Gibraltar, Cardinal Nichols visited the British Crown Dependency last June as part of a delegation from the Council of Christians and Jews.
During his visit the Cardinal expressed his joy at visiting Gibraltar and at the visible excellent relations between Catholics and Jews on the Rock.
