German Interior Minister agrees cooperation on police training with Yad Vashem

German Interior Minister Nancy Faeser visited the Yad Vashem Holocaust memorial in Jerusalem where she signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in police training.

“With this cooperation, we are strengthening and supplementing existing measures to raise awareness of antisemitism as part of the basic and advanced training of federal police authorities,” said Faeser.

“For us and also for me personally, it is very important to preserve the memory of the Shoah”.

She also met with her Israeli counterpart Omer Bar-Lev with whom she discussed a strengthening of the security cooperation between the two countries.

Other topics discussed included more intensive cooperation in prevention and deradicalization, as well as in cybercrime investigations.
