Bundesliga football club VfL Wolfsburg takes a stand against antisemitism

Bundesliga football club VfL Wolfsburg is taking a clear stance against antisemitism.

Its managing director, Michael Meeske, signed the antisemitism and antigypsyism working definition of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) on behalf of the club, underlining its “commitment to diversity, humanity and openness as well as against discrimination”.

As part of the signing, two workshops for secondary school students were organized in cooperation with the Jewish Sports Federation Makkabi Germany.

At the same time, representatives from Bergen-Belsen, among other places, were part of the initiative.

In the near future, VfL will host the “Meet a Jew” project of the Central Council of Jews in Germany (Zentralrat der Juden in Deutschland) at the Heinrich Nordhoff Comprehensive School in Wolfsburg.
