The La Victoire synagogue in Paris is celebrating its 150the anniversary with the publication of a book comemorating the achievement.
Some of the great figures of recent Jewish history including Alfred Dreyfus and Léon Blum were married at the synagogue constructed in 1867 in Paris’s 9th district.
The huge cathedral-like structure, one of the largest in Europe, can seat up to 2,000 congregants and is very much a symbol of French Judaism, hosting most national community events.
