Massive manifestation against antisemitism in Paris after the rape of a Jewish girl

Hundreds of people gathered against antisemitism in Paris, following the gang rape reported by a 12-year-old Jewish girl in Courbevoie (Hauts-de-Seine), which caused a strong emotional reaction in France.

“Raped at 12 because she is Jewish” and “Antisemitism is not residual” were some of the messages on the protesters’ signs.

The demonstration took place on the forecourt of the city hall, organised by the collective Nous Vivrons, with the presence of Justice Minister Eric Dupond-Moretti, former ministers, elected officials, the president of the CRIF (Representative Council of Jewish Institutions in France) Yonathan Arfi, and the Imam of Drancy Hassen Chalghoumi.
