Jewish daycare director faced death threats and antisemitic insults in Paris suburbs

In an incident that occurred in Champigny-sur-Marne, Val-de-Marne, the director of a Jewish nursery was threatened with a knife and subjected to anti-Semitic. The assailant remains at large, and an investigation has been initiated.

The attacker entered the “Les Minis Kids” nursery in Champigny-sur-Marne. The nursery is known for having a significant Jewish population.

The individual entered the nursery through an unlocked door and proceeded to the director’s office, whose door was open. There, he threatened the director with a 15-centimeter knife, brandishing the weapon in her direction.

“I will rape you, filthy Zionist. I will kill you, dirty Jew, dirty Zionist. I will come back with others and treat you like in Gaza,” the individual allegedly declared, according to police sources cited by Le Figaro. Following the incident, the assailant fled the scene without physically harming the director, who was nonetheless deeply traumatized, according to police sources.

During the incident, nine children were confined to a room, with none of them coming into contact with the aggressor. The individual is currently still on the run.

The Créteil public prosecutor has launched an immediate investigation for “death threats materialized due to race, ethnicity, nationality, or religion,” “threats of crime against persons” for the same reasons, as well as “violence resulting in incapacity not exceeding eight days.” The latter charge is compounded by three circumstances: the act was committed against a person performing a public service mission, in proximity to an educational institution, and due to the victim’s religion. The Val-de-Marne Departmental Judicial Police is handling the investigation.
