Jewish cemetery desecrated in south-western France

Several tombstones at the Jewish cemetery in Bayonne in south-western France were destroyed in an act of vandalism. The desecration was committed over the first weekend of the year.

The mayor of Bayonne has since visited the site and condemned the attack. No inscriptions were found on the stones. A police investigation has been launched.
